Skype “leaves” Europe
Skype has decided to close its branchs in Germany, Spain, Italy, Scandinavia, Poland and France, with the idea to improve its services of free VoIP, since their services of payment even have a welcome limited in the old continent.
This reorganization of Skype Europe will suppose the suppression of 30 to 40 jobs, of approximately 520 employees whom it has company at the moment.
This news has arrived to us of surprise, because the number of users of this pioneering service of VoIP in Internet does not stop to grow and it already surpasses 175 million, although the use of the services of payment as SkypeOut really is even limited. It seems to be that the part that grows more is the services free, and the present situation is not the best one for companies of the sector.
The closing of the branchs of Skype in Europe shows the failure of the project by which these would have to foment the use of the services of payment to improve the yield in each country.
Without a doubt the subject for Skype and another one companies VoIP puts a little more complicated with the increase of the competition, mainly by the traditional operators, including Telephone, who are attacking with aggressive supplies the intrusion in their markets.
