New AOL AIM 6.5

AIMAOL has sent a new version of its client of instantaneous messenger AIM.

AIM 6,5 has added the functionality to be able to listen to music that is reproducing your contacts, whenever are not songs protected by DRM. AIM 6.5 also reportedly makes it easier to send messages to mobile phones via SMS and allows you to set a personalized message whenever you’re offline.

Even so, AIM follows without being able to connect itself to other messengers servers of mail like MSN or Google, so this reason is something to consider at the time of choosing between AIM or Adium, to put an example.

AIM 6.5 requires Windows 2000 or higher and IE 6+ with Flash. Mac users were not included in the recent update, though most probably get by with Apple’s built-in, AIM-compatible iChat application.
